Leonas Restaurante is adjoining the Holy Shrine of Santuario de Nuestro Señor de Esquipulas, commonly called simply El Santuario.
It is shaded by a huge catalpa tree whose trunk grows through the roof of the restaurant.
The restaurant now serves snacks and drinks. Also offered are a number of gift items including jars and bags of food products unique to New Mexico. There are several tables and benches, set among the ristras and memorabilia, where guests can relax and enjoy the warm hospitality and casual atmosphere that has made northern New Mexico one of the top tourist destinations in the country.
